How I Became the Woman I Was Born to Be and How You Can Too!
by Karen Carlisle Ely
Life can only be understood backwards;
but it must be lived forwards.
~ Søren Kierkegaard
In the past fifteen years I have written six books and self-published five of them: Daring to Dream: Reflections on the Year I Found Myself; A Retreat of My Own: A Personal Retreat Guide; Breathing Space: Mini-retreats for the Heart and Soul; 21 Stepping Stones to a More Peaceful, Meaningful Life; and 21 Days of Gratitude (currently out of print).
A Safe Place to Stand is my second memoir and one near and dear to my heart because it chronicles my 24-year journey to becoming the woman I was born to be and contains the teachings of my dear friend and spiritual mentor, Bobby Brooks. Much of my journey was messy, much of it was chaotic and frightening, and much of it was, and continues to be, surprising, inspiring and immensely rewarding.
A Safe Place to Stand is a unique combination of memoir and self-help. At the end of each chapter I’ve included several questions for reflection and journaling.
I would love to share my journey with you, a few chapters at a time, in bi-weekly installments (on the 1st and 15th of each month) in the hopes that my dreams and my journey might inspire and give hope to yours. We will also meet monthly on a conference line to discuss that month’s installment.
Eventually it will be a book in print (that I hope you’ll enjoy as well) BUT I want you to be the first to read my very personal, very spiritual journey.
A Safe Place to Stand will begin on March 1st and continue through May. On the 1st and 15th of each month, you will receive an email installment and information on that month’s conference call. The calls will be recorded and you will receive a link to each recording so if you’re unable to join one of the calls, you’ll still be able to listen to it.
PROGRAM FEE: $30
