Closing And Moving On

We must be willing to let go of the life we’ve planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

~ Joseph Campbell

Hi dear friends . . .

We’ve been on quite a journey together since I started my women’s retreat business nearly 18 years ago and it will definitely be hard to say goodbye.

Since 2003, I have offered programs in 10 states, 8 countries and 4 continents . . . some of you have been on all four continents with me, some on several continents, many in a variety of states and some of you are newer friends. However long we’ve known each other . . . what an honor, privilege and a true joy it has been to have spent such meaningful time with you.

At 74 years of age, I have decided that it is time to step forward into a new way. I’m not sure what that will look like at the moment but I am sure it is time. So, it is with some sadness and also a bit of excitement that I announce I will be closing the Sedona Women’s Institute at the end of March.

Thank you so much to everyone who wrote and called and cried and asked me to reconsider my decision to close the Sedona Women’s Institute at the end of March.  I am so grateful.  You touched my heart in ways I’ll be holding onto for years and years to come.

And for those congratulating me on retirement . . . also very kind and thoughtful . . . however, I’m not a retirement sort of woman.  And I’m already looking for something interesting to do part-time where I feel like I’m uplifting our world in some way.  So we’ll see what shows up!

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.
When I let go of what I have, I receive what I need.

~ Tao Te Ching

TRANSFERRING the Sedona Women’s Institute has already shown up, thanks to a member of our community who wrote and asked me an interesting question, “Wouldn’t you love to see your work continue?”  And, if so, why not look for someone interested in continuing the Institute.  And this leads me to say, YES, OF COURSE, I would love that.  I’ve had a few calls from women who have interest in buying the intellectual property of the Institute (name, website, followers, history, reputation, etc.), however, if I were to do that, I would like someone from our community to take it forward . . . not in the way I would, but in their own unique way.  So, if you are interested, please contact me:  928-254-1897, info@SedonaWomensInstitute.com

STAYING IN TOUCH:  After the end of March, you can reach me at 928-254-1897 or EmailKarenE@gmail.com (caps not necessary).  I would love to hear from you or have you pop up in Sedona and join me for a hike or lunch or a chat or whatever!

OUR BOOK CLUB:  Our book club will continue forward for as long as our members are interested in reading and discussing amazing books!  BTW, I finished reading a masterpiece last week:  The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah.  I am a big fan of Hannah’s and this book is a must read!

PRIVATE RETREATS:  I will still be offering virtual private retreats over the next two months so you can reach me at 928-254-1897 or EmailKarenE@gmail.com (caps not necessary).

MY BOOKS:  I have written six books and published five.  My latest memoir, A Safe Place to Stand is still looking for a publisher and 21 Days of Gratitude is out of print.  However, I still have many copies of Daring to Dream: Reflections on the Year I Found Myself; A Retreat of My Own; Breathing Space: Mini-Retreats for the Heart and Soul; and my mini-book, 21 Stepping Stones to a More Peaceful, Meaningful Life.  You can see info on each by clicking here.  The mini-book is $9 and the other three are $13.95. I would love these books to go to a good home so if you’d like to order one or two of the $13.95 books, https://www.sedonawomensinstitute.com/books/.  If you are interested in ordering two, three or all four of them, then contact me at 928-254-1897 or EmailKarenE@gmail.com (caps not necessary) and I will give you a great discount and free shipping.

You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need
to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.

So I am breathing, trusting, letting go and watching for what will happen and it is my hope that you are doing the same . . .

With love and much gratitude,
Karen
